LOCATIONS & SIGHTINGS
Cockatiels are strong flyers and can
cover great distances in short periods
of time, therefore the states, rather
than cities are highlighted. Some
cockatiels are known to join small
flocks of birds that lead them to bird
feeders to find food. They can also pair
with other escaped cockatiels,
parrot-type or wild birds.  If you should
SIGHT a loose or flying cockatiel
outdoors, please contact
webmaster@CockatielFoundation.com
and the sighting will be posted here
with the date (Include color, markings,
activity, other birds, or any other
information that could be helpful). Just
fill out the FOUND form under
Lost and Found
If you forgot to add your

Description: Normal Grey male  "I think its a 'he,' because he whistles A LOT
and is very smart. He is grey with a white tip/border along his wings and bright
orange cheeks with a yellow crest. He loves whistling to clothes or pillow and
loves being on the bed. He will only sing to cloth or paper for some reason. He
sometimes does a little head bob and has already learned how to say pretty
bird and banana. He cat calls and there is a very distinctive song he sings over
and over. He sings so much I have learned it and he loves me singing it with
him. He is also used to being sprayed with water out of a spray bottle as a bath,
I have never done this and he took it like he does it every day. This bird was very
loved and I want to find his proper owner and return him to his family. We are
taking wonderful care of him and he has become my baby but I know someone
is out there looking for him. I will take a picture within the week and post it as
soon as I can. Also, he is EXTREMELY friendly and my boyfriend found him on
accident outside when he simply flew to his shoulder and stayed put!"

"Last weekend I posted a "found ad" for a banded
cockatiel that flew into our yard.  My address was listed
as Sarver, PA.  The estatic owner lives about 20 miles
southwest of us in Gibsonia.  "Joey" escaped on June
30th, we acquired him on July 3rd. The owner found him
through another ad I placed on Parrot911.  No one
knows where Joey  was between those two dates but he
was identified & is certainly happy to be back home!
Thank you for providing an outlet for lost/found critters."

Description/Color:  Normal Grey male
Described as: "Found male cockatiel on Westside
Road in Vernon. Grey with Orange cheeks/ears. Has
a touch of yellow on wings.  Must have been hurt; has
ruffled feathers and a wound on left side of chest that
is healing. Sings a few tunes. Likes to
sing/talk/squawk before going to bed (around
8:00pm). Doesn't come out of the cage and doesn't
like to be touched or handled, but is friendly.
Does/says a few things, if you think this is your bird
please call us with details as to what he can say. I'm
not sure how far these birds can travel, so he may
have come from somewhere in BC.  If nobody claims
him we will keep him as we have a cockatiel as well
and he will have a loving home. PLEASE NOTE THE
FOUND BIRD IS THE ONE SITTING ON THE PERCH
IN THE CAGE taken the day we found him. .
